The Charity Law of the People’s Republic of China was formally enacted and implemented in 2016. To study and evaluate the effects during the initial two years of its implementation and to provide practical legal guidance for practitioners in China’s charity sector, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China Office and the Shanghai ForNGO Social Organization Legal Research and Service Center jointly initiated the “China Charity Law Handbook” project.
